The business behind the brand. The story that tells it.
Zyi is a creative house rooted in identity and story, brand identity, design, and the operational systems that hold it all together, built for businesses and makers whose work carries real weight.
Brand identity is a story, not a logo. Here's how we build it.
A logo can be redesigned in an afternoon. A story takes longer, and it's the part that actually makes people stay.
At zyi, we come at brand identity from a different starting point than most studios. Before colour palettes or typefaces, we ask what a brand is actually saying, where it comes from, who it's for, and what it means to the people who'll carry it forward. That question shapes everything downstream. It's why our work tends to read as grounded and specific rather than trend-led, and why clients come to us less for "a rebrand" and more for help figuring out what their brand should have been saying all along.
Culture isn't a mood board reference, it's the foundation
We work across London and Barbados, and that duality shapes how we think about culture in branding. Culture, to us, isn't an aesthetic you borrow, a pattern here, a colour story there. It's context: the histories, references, and lived details that make a brand from somewhere rather than assembled from a trend report.
That's a meaningfully different process. It means research before design. It means asking what a symbol actually means to the people it's drawn from, not just whether it looks good on a business card. And it means being willing to walk away from an aesthetic choice if it's borrowed rather than earned. The result is identities that feel specific rather than swappable, you couldn't hand the same brief to a different studio and get the same brand back.
