Overdue
Conflict is a consistent theme in MadeByMagic’s ‘Overdue’, a story of heartache and melancholy over an R&B, dub-ish ensemble that invokes head-banging throughout. Magic describes Overdue as a "melancholic Spring (season)”, dark chords bloom as we explore growing pains that come with growing apart from an old flame, personified as a drug that alleviates his pain but also acknowledges it being the cause.
We decided to approach conflict with a visual theme of duality, 2 apposing sides that share the same body. Also addressing that the things we enjoy and indulge in can hurt and consume us, just as much.
